Method- Forecasting Accuracy Analyses Cont.
- The student's pattern of performance on Galileo assessments is then used to estimate their level of risk not passing the statewide assessment.
- Risk levels are established based on student performance on an initial assessment and refined as additional assessments are taken.
- Although risk levels represent a continuum of risk, for the purpose of forecasting accuracy analyses, students classified as “On Course” or “Low Risk” are predicted to pass AIMS while students classified as “Moderate Risk” or “High Risk” are predicted to not pass AIMS.
- ATI considers forecasting accuracy to be adequate if a student’s risk level accurately predicted performance on the statewide assessment for at least 75 percent of students
